Our Deacons

As Deacons, to serve the church is our duty and love. Our efforts are also focused to assist all ministries of our congregation to magnify God.
 

Jesse Davis

Jesse Davis was ordained as a Deacon on January 16, 2011. Bro. Davis married his wife, Tasha, on September 25, 1997 and they have four children; two sons, Kalebh and Jalen, and two daughters Jeneva and Kameryn.
 
Bro. Davis uses his talent of singing for the Lord by leading songs during worship and singing in the Adult Chorus. He is also a Youth Advisor for Northwest Youthful Praise, and serves as a Youth Counselor for Southside’s Youth Group.
 
In his spare time, Bro. Davis enjoys cooking, traveling and spending quality time with his wife and children. His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 and often reflects on the entire chapter for guidance and wisdom.

Odell Gilbreath

Odell Gilbreath was added to the church of Christ in 1980 and was ordained as a Deacon on March 29, 1992. He is married to his wife, Ann, and they have two sons, Eric and Brandon, one daughter Shannon and son-in-law Sydney.
 

Bro. Gilbreath enjoys studying God’s Word with his wife, boating, fishing, going to Classic Car Shows with his son Eric and doing home projects with his daughter Shannon.

His favorite bible verse is John 3:16, “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Troy Ratliff

Bro. Troy Ratliff was ordained as a Deacon on January 16, 2011. Bro. Ratliff has been a member at the Southside Church of Christ since his youth. He attended Bellevue College, and later joined the Air Force in 1985, where he served honorably for 10 years. He currently works for the U.S. Postal Service. Bro. Ratliff married his wife, Esther, on May 26, 1986. They have two daughters, Escense and Ti’erra.
 

Bro. Ratliff provides assistance to the congregation in various areas including Bible School Teacher, VBS Co-facilitator, Funeral Ministry, Feeding Program Ministry, Ushers, Community Outreach Group, Zone Leader, Gospel Meetings and Database.

In his spare time Bro. Ratliff enjoys spending time with his family, watching/attending sports events and listening to jazz. His favorite scripture is Romans 12:1-2, as it reminds us that God just wants our reasonable service and revitalized focus on Him.
