Senior Minister's Bio

Bro. Harper began preaching in 1963 at the Figueroa Church of Christ in Los Angeles, California and as bi-vocational minister served congregations in California, Nebraska and Washington state. He has spoken at numerous workshops, lectureships, conferences and seminars throughout the country. He has been involved in mission work in Canada, Mexico, Bahamas and Nigeria West Africa. He has been privileged to serve at the Southside Church of Christ in Seattle, Washington since 1987.

Bro. Harper's secular work includes over 10 years experience as a probation officer in Los Angeles County as a family, marriage and group counselor. He served for two years as Principal of a school for multiply-handicapped blind youth at the foundation for Jr. Blind in Los Angeles, CA. He retired in 1999 after 25 years of service as the Director of the Social Work Department with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the V.A. Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Bro Harper is married and has three children.
